Sita’s Shawl And Bracelet
One of the Vanaras who was in the group handed Sugriva a shawl and other items. Sugriva gave them to Rama. He asked:
“Do these belong to Sita?”
Seeing his beloved’s shawl and bracelet, Rama grabbed them and broke out in a cry of joy, seized by a very strong emotion.
“How did you get these things? These are Sita’s shawl and bracelets!”
“One evening, we were in a clearing not far from here,” said Sugriva, “when we saw a huge figure in the sky holding a young woman who was crying and struggling desperately. When she saw us, she threw these objects at us which we collected and kept. Immediately after telling me your story, I realized they belonged to her.”
Thus, the alliance between the two was definitively sealed.
