Parjanya (Sri Krishna’s paternal grandfather) and Sumukha (Sri Krishna’s maternal grandfather) are best friends.
In their youth, these two companions promised each other that other cowherd men could give their children the same names as they both would give their sons, like Nanda. For this reason, in Sri Vrindavana there are also other gopas who are called by names such as Nanda.
