What happened to Ekalavya

What happened to Ekalavya after he gave away his right-hand thumb to Drona as Guru-Dakshina? Did he take sides in the Kurukshetra War?

According to Bhagvata puran , when jarasandh attacked on mathura to take revenge of kansa’s death then Eklavya joined the army of jarasandh. In the battle, sri krishna killed him because he knew that eklavya would become the obstacle in establishment of Dharma.
