The Start Of the War

The hostilities began.

The start of the battle was daunting for the Raksasa. Thousands of soldiers were hit by various weapons; and heads and arms and legs and bodies mutilated in various terrible ways began to pile up on the battlefield. Many great warriors fell. Rama’s and Laksmana’s arrows hissed through the air like poisonous winged snakes, taking thousands of lives. The two brothers’ way of fighting was superhuman.

No one could see their movements or the trajectory of the arrows; these were only seen when they arrived. The battle raged very violently everywhere.

Meanwhile, shouts of joy rose from one side of the battlefield: Angada had defeated Indrajit, who had been forced to retreat. But he re-entered from another part of the battlefield and, avoiding meeting Angada, attacked Rama and Laksmana directly.
