la parola maha viene dalla radice sanskrita mah, che indica un’abbondanza; significa anche elevato o grande; colui che gioisce, che dà o concede.
Lakshmi è un sostantivo femminile, con la radice inlaksh, che significa essere contrassegnato con (generalmente con qualità di buon auspicio. Perciò significa buon segno, buona fortuna, prosperità, felicità, ricchezza, opulenza, bellezza o grazia.
Dunque chi è molto ricco delle qualità menzionate può essere chiamata Maha Lakshmi, ma significa anche colui che le dà agli altri.

Dear friend,
the word maha comes from the sanskrit root mah, which indicates abundancy; also may mean exalted or great; one who rejoices, one who gives or bestows.
Lakshmi is a feminine noun, with root in laksh, which means to be marked with (generally auspicious marks). It therefore means good sign, good fortune, prosperity, happiness, wealth, riches, beauty or loveliness.
Therefore one who very rich with the above-mentioned qualities may be called Maha Lakshmi, but also one who gives them to others.
