Surpanakha Wants Revenge
Back at the palace, Ravana found Surpanakha waiting for him. When he saw her wounded and crying, he felt his chest swell with anger and hatred towards the one who had hurt his sister. Surpanakha, who wanted nothing more than revenge, wept and shouted between sobs.
“Everyone knows that there is no one more valiant than you in all the worlds, but it seems you don’t want to help your sister, who was humiliated and hurt by two insignificant human beings. How can you hope that people will continue to respect you if you do not avenge the death of your brothers Khara and Dussana? Everyone will think that you were afraid of Rama, and no one will take your orders anymore. If you do this, in a short time you will lose the position you have earned with so much effort.”
Seeing his brother’s indecision, Surpanakha thought about leveraging other feelings.
“Besides, I assure you that after seeing Sita,” she continued, “you will understand what beauty really is. Believe me. You should kidnap her, make her yours, and revenge the wounded honor of your race.”
