A girl child was born from a part of Lord Vishnu to protect Dharma in the home of Pandit Ratnakar on the banks of Rameshwaram in South India. At the age of 9, when she learned that Lord Vishnu had incarnated as Rama, Goddess Trikuta started penance to get Rama as her husband. After the abduction of Sita, when Lord Rama reached the shores of Rameshwaram in search of Sita. It was here that the first meeting of Rama and Trikuta took place. Goddess Trikuta expressed her desire to have Rama as her husband.
Lord Rama told Goddess Trikuta that I have taken a vow to remain a wife fast in this incarnation. I am married to Sita, so I cannot marry you. When Goddess Trikuta did a lot of persuasion, then Shri Ram said that I will come to you while returning from Lanka, if you recognize me, I will marry you.
Sri Rama obeyed his promise and while returning from Lanka came to Goddess Trikuta but due to the illusion of Lord Rama, Goddess Trikuta could not recognize him. To remove the sorrow of Trikuta, Shri Ram said that Goddess you are a divine cave on Trikuta mountain, in that cave all the three superpowers Mahasaraswati, Mahalakshmi and Mahakali are sitting in the form of Pindi.
You go to the same cave and wait for me. When I will be “Kalki Avatar” in Kalyug, then I will come and marry you. Till then Mahavir Hanuman will be at your service and will help you in protecting Dharma. You fulfill the wishes of the devotees who follow the religion. According to the order of Lord Ram, even today Vaishno Mata is waiting for him and filling his bag by removing the sorrows of the devotee who comes to his court.
There is a grand cave on the Trikut mountain of Jammu. In this cave naturally three Pindis are made. This Pindi is of Goddess Saraswati, Lakshmi and Kali. Devotees get darshan of these bodies. But there is no Pindi of Mata Vaishno here. Mata Vaishno is present here in invisible form, yet this place is called Vaishno Devi Tirtha.
