San Francisco, 1968 Golden Gate Park, Morning Walks with Srila Prabhupada, myself, Yamuna Devi to my right.
The Park was not far from the Fredrick St Temple storefront. It was here in March with my battery-powered tape-recorder, I was the first to record the Morning Walks, and the first to record Srila Prabhupada singing songs of the Vaishnava Acharyas, as well as slokas from the Srimad Bhagavatam. This all recorded in His apt. Srila Prabhupada was intrigued with a battery- powered tape-recorder since they just became available on the market. It was very heavy to carry and I had to tie a cloth around the handle to carry around my shoulder. He asked what was the brand, and I replied, ‘Concord’, and He said that was a very good brand. Now how did He know that?……..
