Sixteen element (twenty-four)

This mahat-tattva contains all the ingredients of the material manifestations, including the conditioned souls. Primarily this mahat-tattva is divided into #sixteen parts, namely the five gross material elements and the eleven working instruments or senses. It is like the cloud in the clear sky. In the spiritual sky, the effulgence of Brahman is spread all around, and the whole system is dazzling in spiritual light. The mahat-tattva is assembled in some corner of the vast, unlimited spiritual sky, and the part which is thus covered by themahat-tattva is called the material sky. This part of the spiritual sky, called the mahat-tattva, is only an insignificant portion of the whole spiritual sky, and within this mahat-tattva there are innumerable universes. All these universes are collectively produced by the Kāraṇodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, called also the Mahā-Viṣṇu, who simply throws His glance to impregnate the material sky.

D:  Quali sono gli elementi contenuti nel primordiale pradhana?

 

R:  Il #Pradhana è composto di 24 elementi, che possono essere classificati come segue:

 

cinque grossolani, cinque sottili, i quattro sensi interni, i cinque sensi per acquisire conoscenza e i cinque organi di azione esterni.

Questi sono i 24 elementi che compongono il Pradhana. Ma vediamoli insieme.

 

I cinque elementi grossolani sono:

1. la terra
2. l’acqua
3. il fuoco
4. l’aria
5. l’etere

 

I cinque elementi sottili, cioè quegli elementi che siamo in grado di percepire coi nostri sensi, sono:

1. l’odore
2. il sapore
3. il colore
4. l’oggetto del tatto
5. il suono

 

I sensi che permettono l’acquisizione di informazioni utili alla vita sono:

1. l’udito
2. il tatto
3. il gusto
4. la vista
5. l’olfatto

 

Gli organi d’azione sono:

1. l’organo della parola
2. le membra che permettono di agire
3. quelle che servono per spostarsi
4. gli organi di riproduzione
5. gli organi di evacuazione

 

I sensi interni, sottili, sono:

1. mente
2. intelligenza
3. ego
4. coscienza contaminata.
