People who Lack the Infinite Joy are Certainly Unfortunate

Symptoms of misfortune are described in Srimad-Bhagavatam as follows:

daivena te hata-dhiyo bhavatah prasangat

sarvasubhopasamanad vimukhendriya ye

kurvanti kama-sukha-lesa-lavaya dina

lobhabhibhuta-manaso ‘kusalani sasvat

O Lord, people who lack the infinite joy that comes from chanting and listening to Your transcendental pursuits are certainly unfortunate and lack common sense. In fact, they engage in fatal activities and thus enjoy only a fleeting pleasure.

Frustrated by their inability to get even a pinch of happiness from sense gratification and overwhelmed by greed, they engage in unfavorable pursuits. These people make no effort to engage in chanting and listening to Your glories.
