When There’s a Big Stink in ISKCON…
BY: MAHAVIDYA DAS (ACBSP)
Jun 08, 2016 — UK (SUN) —
Music… lights… camera… and action…
“When something’s strange in the neighbourhood, who ya gonna call…?”
Why… Anuttama das…
that’s who.
When there is a big stink in ISKCON…
you can bet your bottom dollar the ISKCON leadership calls out…
fanfare… drumroll… applause…
the ISKCON Minister of Communications.
Sure enough…
Anuttama will be there to reassure the ISKCON party faithful that…
butter wouldn’t melt in the ISKCON leadership’s collective mouths.
Anuttama das is hardly an impartial observer, being an ISKCON GBC member himself.
Anuttama has had plenty of practice putting the spin on sin.
Heck…
he was even dragged into ISKCON UK over the Gauri das debacle.
Rather than just saying…
“heck we really screwed up again”…
these are his comments
(or the comments of his masters)
in relationship to the recent documentary,
“The Cost of Silence”.
“Many errors
Exaggerations
And other short comings”
Yep… play it down to the max.
You don’t hear Anuttama das saying…
Yep… Bhaktividya purna got caught publicly lying…
“I have never abused anybody.”
Swami… give us all a break.
We’re not your disciples.
Neither…
does Anuttama das comment on the infamous Bhavananda being honoured at Chowpatty.
Nope… no comment there.
And…
you expect us all to swallow the keen photographer Indradyumna Swami’s excuse…
Please…
don’t insult us any further.
Tell him to go put on white.
I also read in part 2:
“The GBC body selects the CPO but does not interfere in investigations or other action of the CPO. In fact the GBC and all of ISKCON are guided by the CPO”
Now that I find totally unbelievable. From personal experience using Gauri das as an example…
Sivarama Swami… Praghosa das… and Sesa das wrote letters of support in favour of Gauri das.
3 weeks after Gauri das was caught publicly breaking his 3 year restriction by the local Watford Observer…
This is what the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple president had to say…
“Sruti Dharma admitted Gauri Das was working in a part time role in the temple but did not say what these projects were, how much was being paid or if they were temporary or permanent.”
Temple spokesman Radhamohan Das added:
“there was nothing controversial about the employment and that it was in line with ISKCON’ s ruling as Gauri Das was not serving as an officer or leader”
On the 8/1/09
I received an email from Gauri das…
“Now that I have no position and don’t represent anything…”
That email was sent to the Bhaktivedanta Manor CPO rep, Gandarvika devi dasi.
Here’s the response…
“This is a little confusing. I don’t think that Gauri is saying in this email that he is not employed at the temple… I think he is saying that he doesn’t have a position of leadership which was the CPO ruling….. he is allowed to be employed but not in a leadership role. The role he has now is involved with planning issues. George Harrison garden and the Gangotri campaign. He does not have a leadership role in any of these services, nor is he a spokesperson for any of these things.”
Now the above statement is from the Bhaktivedanta Manor CPO rep, Gandarvika dasi. It contradicts the Watford Observer’s account of Gauri das publicly representing ISKCON.
So the above email correspondence was sent to the international CPO Director, Champakalata dasi…
and the response was
No response.
Let’s move on to a public inquiry.
This took place at the civic offices.
Gauri das was there along with a lawyer representing ISKCON.
Gauri das produced a document representing ISKCON…
Here’s what Gauri das had to say…
Page 3 of 8:
“My name is Gauri Das. I have been a full time and active member of ISKCON since1983 and I was President of the Temple for a period between 2006 and 2008.I continue to be responsible for planning matters at Bhaktivedanta Manor “
Submitted 20/Jan 2011
The above statement from Gauri das’s own mouth contradicts his own email above of 2009.
And when one considers the Manor goshalla cost £2.800.000…
A project Gauri das was involved in…
meeting local government officials, lawyers etc…
Not a position within ISKCON….????
Now… in 2016… Gauri das is managing director of Bhaktivedanta Manor, upon whose grounds the Manor school resides.
Here’s the lifetime restriction placed on Gauri das…
“As a lifetime restriction Gauri Das shall not have service directly overseeing children in an ISKCON temple or project..such as managing or teaching in an ISKCON school. He is free to assume any other service in ISKCON.”
Isn’t that wonderful… totally brilliant… jolly good… great character reference for our managing director.
All of the above supporting documents were sent to the local ISKCON GBC, Praghosa das…
The response was…
No response.
The international ISKCON CPO director was also notified…
The response
No response.
I sent all the documentation to the ISKCON GBC Minister of Justice, Sesa das…
The response
No response.
I sent registered mail to the former UK GBC, Sivarama Swami…
The response
No response.
Over a period of 10 years I have sent out approximately 6,000+ emails to ISKCON leadership.
I received a grand total of 5 replies.
3 of which said…
“do not contact me again”
1 from HH Janananda Swami saying he would speak with me…
But he didn’t.
Only 1 person factually took the time to speak to me…
H.H. Bhakti Vikas Swami… who has just now had his own book banned.
Every copy that I sent out was posted on the Sampradaya Sun and can be found in the Sun archives.
In conclusion…
Yes… I have plenty of practical experience in dealing with the CPO and the GBC.
Parents…
Do yourselves a big favour.
Save yourselves a whole heap of heartbreak.
Just call the police.
Oh… and I got banned by Gauri das’s supporters for my troubles.
One of my friends was told…
by the ISKCON UK GBC, Praghosa das, that…
“If you associate with Mahavidya das…
we will have to review your affiliation with ISKCON”.
Don’t you just love being part of the happy ISKCON family?
