All glories to Srila Prabhupada.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cRupa Gosvami has stated that five kinds of devotional activities-namely,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">&#8211; residing in Mathura,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">&#8211; worshiping the Deity of the Lord,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">&#8211; reciting \u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">&#8211; serving a devotee, and\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">&#8211; chanting the Hare Krishna mantra-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">are so potent that a small attachment for any one of these five aspects can arouse devotional ecstasy even in a neophyte.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">And also:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c\u2026 If someone becomes attached to the \u015ar\u012b M\u016brti, or Deity of K<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a, by worshiping at home, then he will forget his relationships of so-called friendship, love, and society. Thus, it is the duty of every householder to install Deities of the Lord at home and to begin the process of worshiping along with all of his family members. This will save everyone from unwanted activities such as going to clubs, cinemas, dancing parties, smoking, drinking, etc. All such nonsense will be forgotten if one stresses the worship of the Deities at home.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Srila Prabhupada in Nectar of Devotion.)<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">So, Deity worship is exceptionally important, and I am very happy that you\u2019ve always showed attraction to it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">I saw the picture of your altar and everything looks very nice, clean, well-organized, and devotional. Very good!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">I noticed two details that maybe you can correct.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The first one is that every altar must have its main Deity. Your altar has many divine personalities, but there is no a main Srimurti. So, if possible, you should have a picture of Gaura Nitai bigger than the others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The other detail I noticed prompted me to ask you a question: Who do you offer your bhoga, arati, etc. to? Since you are initiated, you should make offerings to your spiritual master, and I didn\u2019t see his picture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">If possible, when there are not devotees around, the altar should be behind a curtain. In the morning you open them, pay obeisances reciting Guru Pranama Mantra giving your left side to the Deities. Then, you clean the altar very nicely, (Cleanliness is the main quality of a brahmana) and after that, you do your arati.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">There are many nice videos on the Internet on how to perform arati. If the Deities are not installed, the minimum standard is determined by the devotee himself with a sankalpa, or vote.
