On the riverside remained Krishna on a worn out boat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha and Her associates urged to Krishna,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cPlease take us to the other side of River Yamuna.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna rowed them down to some distance with great pleasure. Let us describe Krishna\u2019s playful pastimes with them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">When the old boat floated in violent waters, the Gopis said,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cYou are troubling we young girls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">O Madhava, You reap the seed of all troubles and You alone can make us cross this River.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna said,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cAll food you carry will be drowned. Please throw away all you carry in water including your unwanted clothing.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Even at this dreadful moment, Krishna was cutting jokes at the Gopis and clapped hands showing no worries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Gopis said,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cWe desperately throw water from the sinking boat with our bare hands. Even if we escape from here, we will not surrender to You.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><i><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Some more details on the same sto<\/span>ry:<\/i><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Reaching the bank of Yamuna, the Gopis urged the boatman,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cPlease take us to the other side.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna pretended to be in a deep nap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Sri Sanjaya Kavisekhara says:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna said to Radha,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cMy dear young girl, please get in My tari (boat). Radha took it as tarau (trees) and retorted,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cWhat strength have I to climb on trees?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna replied, \u201cMy charming girl, I didn\u2019t mean tree, but tarani (boat).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In Sanskrit, tarani means sun as well and therefore, Radha replied, \u201cWhy would I go to sun?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna said, \u201cI always spoke of nau (boat).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In Sanskrit, nau means we as well and so Radha replied, \u201cThese are aimed at to bring Us together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">I worship the immutable Lord Krishna, who smiled at Radha with pleasure in this playful duel of words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Srila Rupa Gosvami:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha says, \u201cYou are right. No waves in Yamuna now and this boat is new and strong. Nevertheless, I am afraid of You, the reckless boatman, O Keshava.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">This river is deep and the boat is old. We helpless girls are in dire danger. Now You are the only boatman who can sail us safely on to the shore of Yamuna.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Sri Jagadananda Raya:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna stopped the boat at the middle of the river and demanded the fare. He smiled as He looked at the frightened face of the Gopis, who had no money to pay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Sri Suryadasa:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha says, \u201cO Krishna, as You said, I have thrown the milk products, My necklace and all My belongings in the river, but still the shore is still afar.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha says,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cThe boat is heavily tossed up by the wind. The gushing water is sinking the boat in Yamuna. Destiny is My enemy, but even in this calamity, the lusty Krishna puts His hands on Me.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha again says,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cMy hands are tired and I cannot push the water out anymore. Nevertheless, you still joke at Me. Hey Krishna, if I surmount this, I will no more step into Your boat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Sri Manohara:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha says, \u201cDear Gopi friends, please pray to your divinities that either the water of Yamuna be knee deep or get a boatman other than Krishna.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Sri Mukunda Bhattacharya:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha says,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cThe boat rocks either way in this deep water in the captaincy of reckless Krishna. The sun sets and I am helpless now. O Gopi, Vraja is far away and what can I do?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna pays no heed to My begging even with the throat choked. He disregards My obeisance. O Gopi, even in the midst of waves, Krishna shakes the boat and water seeps in and I am frightened, but Krishna is free from fear.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Srila Rupa Gosvami:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha says,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cFerocious waves lash at Yamuna now. The boat is full of water, but Krishna seems unafraid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna says,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cO beautiful Radha, don\u2019t be harsh. We will escape by Your mercy. Please offer Me a fare of promise to enjoy amorous moments with You in Govardhana.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Radha says,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cYou are a cheat, Krishna. Go and hide under a pile of cow-dung. Why do You come and beg so uselessly. Turn away.
