Ravana Visiting Sita<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/h2>\n

While he was absorbed in that meditation, Hanuman saw in the distance Ravana walking towards them. Surrounded by his most trusted ministers, Ravana walked with a proud and determined step. Hanuman hid behind a bush not far away to be able to hear.<\/span><\/p>\n

When Sita saw Ravana approaching, her tender face darkened. It was clear that the Raksasa often came to visit her, certainly to try to convince her to abandon herself to him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ravana, visibly angry, looked at her sternly.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s been almost a year,\u201d he said, \u201cand you’ve lived all your time in this garden without knowing any of the joys you are entitled to. Convince yourself. Rama will never arrive. Be my queen. You can’t even imagine the things I could give you.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Sita didn’t answer. She didn’t even look at him. Ravana knew that when Sita did this it was useless to even try to talk to her. Irritated, he gave some instructions to the guardians and walked away, looking at her with deep desire.<\/span><\/p>\n

As soon as Ravana was gone, the guardians tried in every way to persuade her to accept the mighty king as her husband, but Sita wept, complained, called the name of Rama, and did not answer. Unresponsive to her desperate tears, the Rakshasis tormented her more and more, threatening to torture her to death if she didn’t change her mind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sita continued to cry, desperately.<\/span><\/p>\n
