Ravana’s City<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/h2>\n

Hanuman went into the city, wandering its streets. \u00abWhat a great place\u00bb! he thought. How many artistic and architectural marvels! What a pity that such beauties have to be used by such an impious being. He wandered for some time, until he arrived in a palace that was extraordinary for its majesty and pomp. He deduced that this could not be other than Ravana’s palace. He had searched carefully along every street, in every house, in every corner of the city, and Sita was nowhere. He thought that she might be in the royal palace. He entered.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ravana’s palace was the most a materialist could wish for. The walls were made of precious marble, studded with millions of precious stones that gave light at different times of the day, and gold, silver, and many other metals of great value. There were beautiful flowers and plants everywhere. All around in beautiful beds lay stupendous young girls asleep and drunk. Bottles of wine were scattered everywhere, and there were carefully cooked meats and foods. This building contained all the best. It was any materialist’s dream. All kinds of objects for sense gratification were abundant in Ravana’s palace, and that sensory joy seemed to be the only aim there. Hanuman didn’t even look into those beds, sure that Sita would never indulge in those depravities.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
