To the east, he sent a second contingent led by Sushena, and to the west, he sent a large army led by Shatabali. To the south, however, he sent a battalion led by Hanuman, Nila and Angada.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Sugriva recommended that everyone return within a month, warning them that anyone who did not return in time would be severely punished.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Before leaving, Rama met the heads of the mission. He wanted to talk to them, to encourage them, to advise them to hurry up, and to do their best.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cMy happiness and my future,\u201d he told them, \u201care in your hands. May the Lord\u2019s mercy assist you.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Rama looked at Hanuman, for whom he had a special affection. Then, he narrated to him several stories, that of Sita&#8217;s birth, of her life, and many others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">&#8220;I place my trust specially in you,&#8221; Rama said to Hanuman. \u201cTake this ring and when you find Sita show it to her. From this sign, she will understand that you are truly my correspondent. Tell her the stories I\u2019ve told you. She will trust you and you will give her courage. Go quick, leave now, and come back with good news.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Hanuman paid respectful obeisances to Rama&#8217;s feet. With great clamor the armies left.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">When Sugriva instructed his Vanaras about where they should go, Rama realized that he had demonstrated to have a perfect geographical knowledge of the whole planet. He was curious to know how he had acquired it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cWhen Vali kicked me out of the kingdom,\u201d Sugriva replied, \u201cI fled for fear of being killed and he chased me around the globe.
