Rama and his faithful companions had walked all day. They arrived at the hermitage of sage Bharadvaja, the disciple of Valmiki, not far from the confluence of the Ganges with the Yamuna. After offering the sage the due respect, Rama spoke to him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cYour reputation as a sage who has the senses in complete control is spread all over the world. We know that you have traveled a lot and that you know countless holy and enchanting places. Where would you advise us to go to spend our fourteen years of exile? What is the most beautiful land you know?&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cFollow my directions,\u201d Bharadvaja replied, \u201cand you will get to a hill called Citrakuta. It is a wonderful place full of all the beauties of nature.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The three resumed their journey and in a short time they spotted Citrakuta. It was truly beautiful as Bharadvaja had described it. There they found Valmiki&#8217;s hermitage, and immediately they went to offer respectful obeisances to the sage. Then, they decided to build a hut nearby and Laksmana immediately got busy.
