<\/a>Giving instructions on the Name to those who do not have Sraddha<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sraddha-hina jane namopadesa<\/span><\/p>\n

Instructing those who have no sraddha[1]<\/a>, those who are averse, or those who have no interest in listening, is an offense to the auspicious Holy Name.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glories to Gaura-Gadadhara and Jahnava Jivana. Glory to Sita, Advaita and devotees.<\/span><\/p>\n

Folding his hands, Hari Dasa said: Please listen to another offense.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a>Resolute confidence in the Name makes you qualified<\/span><\/h2>\n

Name drdha visvasake sraddha bali, taha haile-i name adhikara haya<\/span><\/p>\n

In the hearts of those who are against the Holy Name, no sraddha arises. They cannot hear the Name.<\/span><\/p>\n

Such a person is not qualified for Nama. Sraddha is the only requirement to understand this essential truth.<\/span><\/p>\n

A high lineage, a virtuous family, knowledge, strength, learning and wealth do not entitle one to the Name.<\/span><\/p>\n

One must have unflinching faith in the glories of the Holy Name. This is the opinion of Sastra which is explained everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a>One becomes an offender of the Name by offering it to a person who does not have Sraddha<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sraddha-hina-janake nama dile namaparadhi haya<\/span><\/p>\n

A sadhu will never give Hari-nama to a person in whom sraddha is not apparent. This is the conduct of a Vaishnava.<\/span><\/p>\n

If a person without sraddha is given Hari-nama, he will be disrespectful to the Name. All Sastra says this.<\/span><\/p>\n

If one gives a jewel to a pig, he will trample it. If one gives clothes to a monkey, he will tear them and throw them away.<\/span><\/p>\n

That person who has no sraddha will perish due to his offenses to Nama, and the Guru will immediately become a non-devotee[2]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

[1]<\/a> We have already discussed the meaning of the word sraddha, which is not faith in the Christian sense. At the beginning there is the desire for spiritual knowledge, then the association of devotees and so on. Thanks to knowledge and even partial spiritual realization, one develops trust, or faith, in what one has not yet understood or realized. Blind faith has nothing to do with Vaishnava philosophy.<\/span><\/p>\n
