A fortunate Jiva takes shelter of the Name.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Very quickly his anarthas will drift away<a href=\"#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a> and weakness will leave one&#8217;s heart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">With firm attachment to the Name, he will not be inclined to engage in impure activities. His previous offenses will be burned away, and his consciousness will become extremely pure<a href=\"#_ftn5\" name=\"_ftnref5\">[5]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Mercy towards all the Jivas manifests itself in the heart and always works for their auspiciousness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Name cannot tolerate the suffering of the Jivas and tries to relieve them of their miseries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The thirst for material pleasures becomes weak and the desires of the senses cannot remain in the heart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Jiva feels disgusted by the efforts to obtain wealth and women. He maintains his life by being satisfied with whatever he obtains from the practices of his dharma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">He accepts all activities favorable to bhakti and does not accept those activities unfavorable to bhakti.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">He thinks: I know that Krishna is my only protector. Krishna is the protector of my life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In his heart he does not retain mental attachments of &#8216;I&#8217; and &#8216;mine&#8217;. In a humble mood, he chants the Name at all times<a href=\"#_ftn6\" name=\"_ftnref6\">[6]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc159506343\"><\/a><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Previous sins and traces of sins flee very quickly<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Purva-papa o papa-gandha sighra dura haya<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">His previous inclinations gradually diminish. His nature quickly purifies and he becomes intelligent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">During this period there may still be some connections with past sinful activities, and traces of these misdeeds remain for a while<a href=\"#_ftn7\" name=\"_ftnref7\">[7]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">When a correct connection with the Name appears, every trace of sin is quickly destroyed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Krishna said to Arjuna: My devotee will never perish. In the moment of danger, I will help him. Thus, by My mercy, the results of his misdeeds will vanish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Those who pursue the path of jnana struggle to purify themselves of their sins, but because they do not want to accept Your help, they inevitably fall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Those great personalities who take refuge in You have no obstacles. This is the final statement of Sastra.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc159506344\"><\/a><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Atonement is not required for those who engage in offenses out of foolishness<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Pramade papa upasthita haile tahara prayascittera prayojana nai<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">If out of foolishness, a devotee still commits sins, he need not perform the austerities of prayascitta<a href=\"#_ftn8\" name=\"_ftnref8\">[8]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This momentary sin does not remain. These three things give suffering to the Jiva.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref6\" name=\"_ftn6\">[6]<\/a> The illusory identification with the material body inevitably causes a sense of possession, which is also illusory, because sooner or later everything will be lost.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref7\" name=\"_ftn7\">[7]<\/a> When one becomes attracted to the Name of Krishna, one partially enters a stage in which there is a previous state and a present state. This is known as sandhi-kala, the intermediate time. During that time, one is not attracted to pursue sinful activities.
