His clothes and complexion are of a greyish purple colour. When his brother-in-law Sumukha makes fun of him and laughs, he becomes mad with anger.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">He received the good fortune of taking birth in an illustrious family of Vraja by worshipping Sri Durvasa.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Gola&#8217;s wife (Jatila)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Gola\u2019s wife is called Jatila<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>. She has a big belly and her complexion resembles that of a crow.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">More maternal uncles<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Yasodhara, Yasodeva, Sudeva and others are Krishna\u2019s maternal uncles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">They all have a complexion that resembles an atasi<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a> and wear clothes that are white mixed with a tinge of pale yellow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Their wives \u2013 Rema, Roma and Surema \u2013 are Pavana\u2019s cousins from his father\u2019s side. These three blessed ladies wear clothes of greyish purple colour and their complexion is like the colour of the flower of the silk-cotton tree<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Yasoda&#8217;s two sisters<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Yasodevi and Yasasvini are the sisters of Yasoda, Krishna\u2019s mother. They are also known by the names Dadhisara and Havihsara.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The elder sister Yasodevi has a blackish blue (syama) complexion and the younger sister Yasasvini\u2019s complexion is like molten gold. They both wear clothes of the colour resembling a mixture of white, yellow and red (hingula).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Like paternal grandmothers<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Silabheri, Sikhambara, Bharuni, Bhangura, Bhangi, Bharasakha, Sikha and other elder ladies are just like paternal grandmothers to Sri Krishna.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Like maternal grandmothers<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Bharunda, Jatila, Bhela, Karala, Karavalika, Gharghara, Mukhara, Ghora, Ghanta, Ghoni, Sughantika, Cakkini, Condika, Cundi, Dindima, Pundavanika, Damani, Damari, Dumbi, Danka and other elder ladies are like Krishna\u2019s maternal grandmothers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The two wet nurses<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Ambika and Kilimba are Sri Krishna\u2019s wet nurses, and they breast-feed Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Ambika, who is a dear friend to Yasoda Mayi, is senior to Kilimba.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Brahmanas (mahisurah)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The brahmanas living in Gokula are divided into two classes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">One is under the shelter of Sri Krishna\u2019s paternal family and the others belong to the priestly class.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Brahmanas belonging to the priestly class<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Vedagarbha, Mahayajva, Bhaguri and others are purohitas<a href=\"#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Gautami, Sarvi, Gargi and others are the wives of these priests.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Brahmana ladies<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Kubjika, Vamani, Svaha, Sulata, Sandili, Svadha, Bhargavi and other elder brahmana ladies are venerable in the entire Vraja-mandala.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Yogamaya<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Paurnamasi is Yogamaya, who arranges all Sri Krishna\u2019s pastimes very skilfully. Her clothes are the colour of red ochre<a href=\"#_ftn5\" name=\"_ftnref5\">[5]<\/a>. Her complexion is golden, and her hair is white like the flower of kasa grass. She is quite tall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Nanda and all the residents of Vraja worship Paurnamasi.
