After Bhishma&#8217;s fall on the 10th day of the war, <a title=\"Karna\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Karna\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Karna<\/a>and his sons, including Vrishasena, joined the war on the 11th day and fought against the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Pandavas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pandavas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pandavas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"11th_day\" class=\"mw-headline\">11th day<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On the 11th day of the war, Vrishasena overwhelmed <a title=\"Upapandavas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Upapandavas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Satanika<\/a>, the son of <a title=\"Nakula\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nakula\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nakula<\/a> in a single combat, and afterwards fought against the other <a title=\"Upapandavas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Upapandavas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Upapandavas<\/a> and defeated them all.Then he fought against <a title=\"Sahadeva\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sahadeva\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sahadeva<\/a> where he broke his bow and made him unconscious. Finally <a title=\"Satyaki\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Satyaki\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Satyaki<\/a> rescued Sahadeva. <sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vrishasena#cite_note-3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">[3]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"12th_day\" class=\"mw-headline\">12th day<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On 12th day of war he attacked the Matsya forces of Pandava army and created havoc by defeating King <a title=\"Virata\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virata\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virata<\/a> and wounds him badly. Seeing this <a title=\"Abhimanyu\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Abhimanyu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Abhimanyu<\/a> came in aid of Virata and a fierce duel took place between Vrishasena and Abhimanyu.Vrishasena pierced Abhimanyu&#8217;s chest and his thighs with couple of arrows but finally Abhimanyu managed to break his bow and defeated him.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"14th_day\" class=\"mw-headline\">14th day<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On the night of the 14th day, Vrishasena engaged in a single combat against <a title=\"Drupada\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Drupada\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Drupada<\/a>, the King of <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Panchala\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Panchala\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Panchala<\/a>, and defeated him.<sup id=\"cite_ref-4\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vrishasena#cite_note-4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>Following, Drupada&#8217;s defeat, he defeated Drupada&#8217;s son <a title=\"Dhrishtadyumna\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dhrishtadyumna\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dhrishtadyumna<\/a> commander in chief of Pandava army and made Drupada and Dhrishtadyumna to retreat.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"17th_day\" class=\"mw-headline\">17th day<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On the 17th day of the war, Vrishasena engaged in a single combat against <a title=\"Nakula\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nakula\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nakula<\/a> and destroyed his chariot.<sup id=\"cite_ref-5\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vrishasena#cite_note-5\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">[5]<\/a><\/sup> After that, Nakula mounted on <a title=\"Bhima\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bhima\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bhima<\/a>&#8216;s chariot, but Vrishasena continued to strike both of them, He broke Bhima&#8217;s bow and pierced Bhima&#8217;s chest with numerous sharp arrows.
