<a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/search\/synonyms\/?original=k%E1%B9%9Bt%C4%AB\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>k\u1e5bt\u012b<\/em><\/a> \u2014 most fortunate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wrapper-translation\">\n<div id=\"bb6015\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-translation\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; color: #0000ff;\">In the <em>\u015b\u0101stra <\/em>it is said that of all types of fruitive workers, <br \/>\nhe who is advanced in knowledge of the higher values of life <br \/>\nis favored by the Supreme Lord Hari. <br \/>\nOut of many such people who are advanced in knowledge [<em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012bs<\/em>], <br \/>\none who is practically liberated by virtue of his knowledge <br \/>\nmay take to devotional service. <br \/>\nHe is superior to the others. <br \/>\nHowever, one who has actually attained <em>prema,<\/em> pure love of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, is superior to him. <br \/>\nThe <em>gop\u012bs<\/em> are exalted above all the advanced devotees <br \/>\nbecause they are always totally dependent upon \u015ar\u012b K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, the transcendental cowherd boy. <br \/>\nAmong the <em>gop\u012bs,<\/em> \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b is the most dear to K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. <br \/>\nHer <em>ku\u1e47\u1e0da<\/em> [lake] is as profoundly dear to Lord K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a as this most beloved of the <em>gop\u012bs<\/em>. <br \/>\nWho, then, will not reside at R\u0101dh\u0101-ku\u1e47\u1e0da and, <br \/>\nin a spiritual body surcharged with ecstatic devotional feelings [<em>apr\u0101k\u1e5bta-bh\u0101va<\/em>], <br \/>\nrender loving service to the Divine Couple \u015ar\u012b \u015ar\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101-Govinda, <br \/>\nwho perform Their <em>a\u1e63\u1e6da-k\u0101l\u012bya-l\u012bl\u0101,<\/em> Their eternal eightfold daily pastimes. <br \/>\nIndeed, those who execute devotional service on the banks of R\u0101dh\u0101-ku\u1e47\u1e0da are the most fortunate people in the universe.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wrapper-puport\">\n<div id=\"bb6016\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">At the present moment almost everyone is engaged in some kind of fruitive activity. Those who are desirous of gaining material profits by working are called <em>karm\u012bs,<\/em> or fruitive workers. All living entities within this material world have come under the spell of <em>m\u0101y\u0101<\/em>. This is described in the <em>Vi\u1e63\u1e47u Pur\u0101\u1e47a<\/em> (6.7.61):<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6017\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-verse-text\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><em>vi\u1e63\u1e47u-\u015bakti\u1e25 par\u0101 prokt\u0101<br \/>\nk\u1e63etraj\u00f1\u0101khy\u0101 tath\u0101 par\u0101<br \/>\navidy\u0101-karma-sa\u1e41j\u00f1\u0101ny\u0101<br \/>\nt\u1e5bt\u012by\u0101 \u015baktir i\u1e63yate<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6018\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Sages have divided the energies of the Supreme Personality of Godhead into three categories \u2013 namely, the spiritual energy, marginal energy and material energy. The material energy is considered to be the third-class energy (<em>t\u1e5bt\u012by\u0101 \u015bakti\u1e25<\/em>). Those living beings within the jurisdiction of the material energy sometimes engage themselves like dogs and hogs in working very hard simply for sense gratification. However, in this life, or, after executing pious activities, in the next life, some <em>karm\u012bs<\/em> become strongly attracted to performing various kinds of sacrifices mentioned in the <em>Vedas<\/em>. Thus on the strength of their pious merit, they are elevated to heavenly planets. Actually those who perform sacrifices strictly according to Vedic injunctions are elevated to the moon and planets above the moon. As mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/bg\/9\/21\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101<\/em>(9.21)<\/a>, <em>k\u1e63\u012b\u1e47e pu\u1e47ye martya-loka\u1e41 vi\u015banti:<\/em> after exhausting the results of their so-called pious activities, they again return to the earth, which is called <em>martya-loka, <\/em>the place of death. Although such persons may be elevated to the heavenly planets by their pious activities and although they may enjoy life there for many thousands of years, they nonetheless must return to this planet when the results of their pious activities are exhausted.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6019\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">This is the position of all <em>karm\u012bs<\/em>, including those who act piously and those who act impiously. On this planet we find many businessmen, politicians and others who are simply interested in material happiness. They attempt to earn money by all means, not considering whether such means are pious or impious. Such people are called <em>karm\u012bs,<\/em> or gross materialists. Among the <em>karm\u012bs<\/em> are some vi<em>karm\u012bs,<\/em> people who act without the guidance of Vedic knowledge. Those who act on the basis of Vedic knowledge perform sacrifices for the satisfaction of Lord Vi\u1e63\u1e47u and to receive benedictions from Him. In this way they are elevated to higher planetary systems. Such <em>karm\u012bs<\/em> are superior to the <em>vikarm\u012bs,<\/em> for they are faithful to the directions of the <em>Vedas<\/em> and are certainly dear to K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. In <a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/bg\/4\/11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101<\/em> (4.11)<\/a>, K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a says: <em>ye yath\u0101 m\u0101\u1e41 prapadyante t\u0101\u1e41s tathaiva bhaj\u0101my aham.<\/em> \u201cIn whatever way one surrenders unto Me, I reward him accordingly.\u201d K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is so kind that He fulfills the desires of the <em>karm\u012bs<\/em> and <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012bs,<\/em> not to speak of the <em>bhaktas<\/em>. Although the <em>karm\u012bs<\/em> are sometimes elevated to higher planetary systems, as long as they remain attached to fruitive activities they must accept new material bodies after death. If one acts piously, he can attain a new body among the demigods in the higher planetary systems, or he may attain some other position in which he can enjoy a higher standard of material happiness. On the other hand, those who are engaged in impious activities are degraded and take birth as animals, trees and plants. Thus those fruitive actors who do not care for the Vedic directions (<em>vikarm\u012bs<\/em>) are not appreciated by learned saintly persons. As stated in <a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/sb\/5\/5\/4\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>\u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam<\/em> (5.5.4)<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6020\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-verse-text\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><em>n\u016bna\u1e41 pramatta\u1e25 kurute vikarma<br \/>\nyad indriya-pr\u012btaya \u0101p\u1e5b\u1e47oti<br \/>\nna s\u0101dhu manye yata \u0101tmano \u2019yam<br \/>\nasann api kle\u015bada \u0101sa deha\u1e25<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6021\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cMaterialists who work hard like dogs and hogs simply for sense gratification are actually mad. They simply perform all kinds of abominable activities simply for sense gratification. Materialistic activities are not at all worthy of an intelligent man, for as a result of such activities, one gets a material body, which is full of misery.\u201d The purpose of human life is to get out of the threefold miserable conditions, which are concomitant with material existence. Unfortunately, fruitive workers are mad to earn money and acquire temporary material comforts by all means; therefore they risk being degraded to lower species of life. Materialists foolishly make many plans to become happy in this material world. They do not stop to consider that they will live only for a certain number of years, out of which they must spend the major portion acquiring money for sense gratification. Ultimately such activities end in death. Materialists do not consider that after giving up the body they may become embodied as lower animals, plants or trees. Thus all their activities simply defeat the purpose of life. Not only are they born ignorant, but they act on the platform of ignorance, thinking that they are getting material benefits in the shape of skyscraper buildings, big cars, honorable positions and so on. The materialists do not know that in the next life they will be degraded and that all their activities simply serve as <em>par\u0101bhava,<\/em> their defeat. This is the verdict of <a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/sb\/5\/5\/5\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>\u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam<\/em> (5.5.5)<\/a>: <em>par\u0101bhavas t\u0101vad abodha j\u0101ta\u1e25<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6022\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">One should therefore be eager to understand the science of the soul (<em>\u0101tma-tattva<\/em>). Unless one comes to the platform of <em>\u0101tma-tattva,<\/em> by which one understands that the soul and not the body is oneself, one remains on the platform of ignorance. Out of thousands and even millions of ignorant people who are wasting their time simply gratifying their senses, one may come to the platform of knowledge and understand higher values of life. Such a person is called a <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b<\/em>. The <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b<\/em> knows that fruitive activities will bind him to material existence and cause him to transmigrate from one kind of body to another. As indicated in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/sb\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam<\/a><\/em> by the term <em>\u015bar\u012bra-bandha<\/em> (bound to bodily existence), as long as one maintains any conception of sense enjoyment, his mind will be absorbed in <em>karma,<\/em> fruitive activity, and this will oblige him to transmigrate from one body to another.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6023\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Thus a <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b<\/em> is considered superior to a <em>karm\u012b<\/em> because he at least refrains from the blind activities of sense enjoyment. This is the verdict of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. However, although a <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b<\/em> may be liberated from the ignorance of the <em>karm\u012bs<\/em>, unless he comes to the platform of devotional service he is still considered to be in ignorance (<em>avidy\u0101<\/em>). Although one may be accepted as a <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b, <\/em>or one advanced in knowledge, his knowledge is considered impure because he has no information of devotional service and thus neglects the direct worship of the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6024\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">When a <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b<\/em> takes to devotional service, he rapidly becomes superior to an ordinary <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b<\/em>. Such an advanced person is described as <em>j\u00f1\u0101na-vimukta-bhakti-parama<\/em>. How a <em>j\u00f1\u0101n\u012b<\/em> takes to devotional service is mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/bg\/7\/19\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101<\/em> (7.19)<\/a>, wherein K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a says:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6025\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-verse-text\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><em>bah\u016bn\u0101\u1e41 janman\u0101m ante<br \/>\nj\u00f1\u0101nav\u0101n m\u0101\u1e41 prapadyate<br \/>\nv\u0101sudeva\u1e25 sarvam iti<br \/>\nsa mah\u0101tm\u0101 sudurlabha\u1e25<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6026\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cAfter many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare.\u201d Actually a person is wise when he surrenders unto the lotus feet of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, but such a <em>mah\u0101tm\u0101,<\/em> great soul, is very rare.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6027\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">After taking to devotional service under the regulative principles, a person may come to the platform of spontaneous love of Godhead, following in the footsteps of great devotees like N\u0101rada and Sanaka and San\u0101tana. The Supreme Personality of Godhead then recognizes him to be superior. The devotees who have developed love of Godhead are certainly in an exalted position.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6028\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Of all these devotees, the <em>gop\u012bs<\/em> are recognized as superior because they do not know anything other than satisfying K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. Nor do the <em>gop\u012bs<\/em> expect any return from K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. Indeed, sometimes K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a puts them into extreme suffering by separating Himself from them. Nonetheless, they cannot forget K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. When K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a left V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana for Mathur\u0101, the <em>gop\u012bs<\/em>became most dejected and spent the rest of their lives simply crying in separation from K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. This means that in one sense they were never actually separated from K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. There is no difference between thinking of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a and associating with Him. Rather, <em>vipralambha-sev\u0101,<\/em> thinking of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a in separation, as \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu did, is far better than serving K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a directly. Thus of all the devotees who have developed unalloyed devotional love for K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, the <em>gop\u012bs<\/em> are most exalted, and out of all these exalted <em>gop\u012bs,<\/em> \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b is the highest. No one can excel the devotional service of \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b. Indeed, even K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a cannot understand the attitude of \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b; therefore He took Her position and appeared as \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu, just to understand Her transcendental feelings.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6029\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In this way \u015ar\u012bla R\u016bpa Gosv\u0101m\u012b gradually concludes that \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b is the most exalted devotee of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a and that Her <em>ku\u1e47\u1e0da<\/em> (lake), \u015ar\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101-ku\u1e47\u1e0da, is the most exalted place. This is verified in a quotation from <em>Laghu-bh\u0101gavat\u0101m\u1e5bta<\/em>(<em>Uttara-kha\u1e47\u1e0da<\/em> 45), as quoted in <em>Caitanya-carit\u0101m\u1e5bta:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6030\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-verse-text\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><em>yath\u0101 r\u0101dh\u0101 priy\u0101 vi\u1e63\u1e47os<br \/>\ntasy\u0101\u1e25 ku\u1e47\u1e0da\u1e41 priya\u1e41 tath\u0101<br \/>\nsarva-gop\u012b\u1e63u saivaik\u0101<br \/>\nvi\u1e63\u1e47or atyanta-vallabh\u0101<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6031\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">\u201cJust as \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b is dear to the Supreme Lord K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a [Vi\u1e63\u1e47u], so Her bathing place [R\u0101dh\u0101-ku\u1e47\u1e0da] is equally dear to K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. Among all the <em>gop\u012bs,<\/em> She alone stands supreme as the Lord\u2019s most beloved.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bb6032\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Therefore everyone interested in K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness should ultimately take shelter of R\u0101dh\u0101-ku\u1e47\u1e0da and execute devotional service there throughout one\u2019s life.
