We have come and joined this society of Krishna consciousness, Mahaprabhu\u2019s movement.<\/span><\/p>\n We have accepted guru and have been chanting the holy name. We may be reciting \u015aik\u1e63\u0101\u1e63\u1e6daka daily, but still we have pride.<\/span><\/p>\n Pride comes in various forms: \u201cDon\u2019t you know who I am? I am a senior devotee! I have spent so many years in this society. Don\u2019t you know that?\u201d This is sevaka-dambha, pride in one\u2019s service position. Although we recite t\u1e5b\u1e47\u0101d api sun\u012bcena, although we have heard many times about the danger of pride, still this dambha is coming to us. Still we cannot give it up: \u201cDon\u2019t you know? I have done this and this and this. I have opened so many temples.\u201d \u201cI am temple president.\u201d \u201cI am manager.\u201d \u201cI am GBC, great guru, \u0101c\u0101rya.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Also, you will also find some vai\u1e63\u1e47avas who have given up their material family and wealth. They have given up everything. But they have ty\u0101ga-dambha, pride in their renunciation: \u201cI am a great ty\u0101g\u012b, a great renunciate. I have given up this thing and this thing. Has anyone done like that?\u201d They may be wandering in Vrindavan, living by begging, just collecting m\u0101dhukar\u012b, bik\u1e63a, and still they have such pride, dambha.<\/span><\/p>\n Who is free from pride? Pride comes in various forms to us. So how can we become humble, t\u1e5b\u1e47\u0101d api sun\u012bcena? How can our chanting become pure and offenseless? How can we get Mahaprabhu\u2019s mercy?
