He only argues against their points of view which he finds objectionable. He wrote extensive polemics refuting Advaita but not once did he make any disparaging remarks about Shankar\u0101c\u0101rya himself.<\/p>\n<p>According to the rules of Tarka (argument and debate) the moment you attack your opponent\u2019s character you have lost the debate.<\/p>\n<p>It has also been argued that the \u201cBuddha\u201d who was claimed as the avat\u0101ra of Vi\u1e63\u1e47u is not the historical Buddha. The Puranas give totally wrong biographical information about him.<\/p>\n<p>The Srimad Bhagavatam &#8211; the last of the Puranas says:\u2013 buddho n\u0101mn\u0101\u00f1jana-suta\u1e25 k\u012bka\u1e6de\u1e63u bhavi\u1e63yati &#8211; &#8220;Buddha, who is the son of Anjana will appear in Kikata (Gaya)&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>So we know for a fact Buddha was born Siddh\u0101rtha Gautama in Kapilavastu in Nepal.
