I&#8217;ve<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">always understood that this came from Srila Prabhupada, and I vaguely<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">remember seeing an instruction from him. He was always very<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">humble, always very willing to do the most simple service. Everybody was<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">attracted to do nice service because he had such a good attitude, and he<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">kind of intoxicated them into the mood.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">I remember everybody would pay obeisances to each other in the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">morning. Jayananda was the temple president, and this was the standard<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">thing. He was so sweet, kind, considerate, and obviously dedicated. Every<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">morning, I would come into the kitchen with a bunch of flowers. I was a new<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">devotee then, and he would explain what I was to do with them. Although I<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">was not even initiated and he was temple president, there was no sense of<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">position. That was extremely attractive. He was very attractive, Jayananda,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">very attractive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">&gt;&gt;&gt; Ref. Think always of the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">details of devotional service and if someone criticizes you for not carrying<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">it out, then you accept, &#8220;Oh Krishna, You are so kind. You are speaking to<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">me through my Godbrother. You are trying to help me advance towards You<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">through my Godbrother.&#8221; That should be the attitude. Always be in a service<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">attitude, that &#8220;These are all my superiors &#8212; Prabhus.&#8221; You can practice<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">this by bowing down. Boys have been coming up to me, I have been<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">recommending that they rise together and immediately pay obeisances to one<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">another, touch each other&#8217;s feet. Sudama Maharaja and I were older devotees,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">we&#8217;ve been used to each other&#8217;s association for so many years, but still<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">when we rise in the morning we offer obeisances when we see each other, we<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">take the dust of each other&#8217;s feet. Otherwise, you should fast one day. It doesn&#8217;t<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">matter, I or you. This is the injunction of the sastra, that sannyasi is<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">supposed to be the guru of the society. So one must bow down.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Yasomatinandana: Prabhupada, in our movement there are so many sannyasis. If the karmi is a superior relative, then chant Hare Krishna and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">bow down down to him on the ground.
