The word <i>dvij\u0101tmaja\u1e25<\/i> is significant here because A\u015bvatth\u0101m\u0101, although the son of Dro\u1e47\u0101c\u0101rya, was not exactly a qualified <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47a.<\/i> The most intelligent man is called a <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47a,<\/i> and it is not a hereditary title. A\u015bvatth\u0101m\u0101 was also formerly called the <i>brahma-bandhu,<\/i> or the friend of a <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47a.<\/i> Being a friend of a <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47a<\/i> does not mean that one is a <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47a<\/i> by qualification. A friend or son of a <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47a,<\/i> when fully qualified, can be called a <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47a<\/i> and not otherwise.
