font-size: 16px;\">Translation<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"bb13442\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-translation\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; color: #ff0000;\">Once, in a holy place in the forest of Naimi\u1e63\u0101ra\u1e47ya, <br \/>\ngreat sages headed by the sage \u015aaunaka <br \/>\nassembled to perform a great thousand-year sacrifice <br \/>\nfor the satisfaction of the Lord and His devotees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wrapper-puport\">\n<p class=\"section-title\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Purport<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<div id=\"bb13443\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The prelude of the <i><a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/sb\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam<\/a><\/i> was spoken in the previous three <i>\u015blokas.<\/i> Now the main topic of this great literature is being presented. <i><a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/sb\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam<\/a>,<\/i> after its first recitation by \u015ar\u012bla \u015aukadeva Gosv\u0101m\u012b, was repeated for the second time at Naimi\u1e63\u0101ra\u1e47ya.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<div id=\"bb13444\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In the <i>V\u0101yav\u012bya Tantra,<\/i> it is said that Brahm\u0101, the engineer of this particular universe, contemplated a great wheel which could enclose the universe. The hub of this great circle was fixed at a particular place known as Naimi\u1e63\u0101ra\u1e47ya. Similarly, there is another reference to the forest of Naimi\u1e63\u0101ra\u1e47ya in the <i>Var\u0101ha Pur\u0101\u1e47a,<\/i> where it is stated that by performance of sacrifice at this place, the strength of demoniac people is curtailed. Thus <i>br\u0101hma\u1e47as<\/i> prefer Naimi\u1e63\u0101ra\u1e47ya for such sacrificial performances.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<div id=\"bb13445\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The devotees of Lord Vi\u1e63\u1e47u offer all kinds of sacrifices for His pleasure. The devotees are always attached to the service of the Lord, whereas fallen souls are attached to the pleasures of material existence. In <i><a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/bg\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bhagavad-g\u012bt\u0101<\/a>,<\/i> it is said that anything performed in the material world for any reason other than for the pleasure of Lord Vi\u1e63\u1e47u causes further bondage for the performer. It is enjoined therefore that all acts must be performed sacrificially for the satisfaction of Vi\u1e63\u1e47u and His devotees. This will bring everyone peace and prosperity.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<div id=\"bb13446\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The great sages are always anxious to do good to the people in general, and as such the sages headed by \u015aaunaka and others assembled at this holy place of Naimi\u1e63\u0101ra\u1e47ya with a program of performing a great and continuous chain of sacrificial ceremonies. Forgetful men do not know the right path for peace and prosperity. However, the sages know it well, and therefore for the good of all men they are always anxious to perform acts which may bring about peace in the world. They are sincere friends to all living entities, and at the risk of great personal inconvenience they are always engaged in the service of the Lord for the good of all people. Lord Vi\u1e63\u1e47u is just like a great tree, and all others, including the demigods, men, Siddhas, C\u0101ra\u1e47as, Vidy\u0101dharas and other living entities, are like branches, twigs and leaves of that tree. By pouring water on the root of the tree, all the parts of the tree are automatically nourished. Only those branches and leaves which are detached cannot be so satisfied. Detached branches and leaves dry up gradually despite all watering attempts. Similarly, human society, when it is detached from the Personality of Godhead like detached branches and leaves, is not capable of being watered, and one attempting to do so is simply wasting his energy and resources.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<div id=\"bb13447\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The modern materialistic society is detached from its relation to the Supreme Lord. And all its plans which are being made by atheistic leaders are sure to be baffled at every step. Yet they do not wake up to this.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<div id=\"bb13448\" class=\"r r-lang-en r-paragraph\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In this age, the congregational chanting of the holy names of the Lord is the prescribed method for waking up.
