Why don’t we hold festivals for Lord Buddha?

Answer to a question
Krishna’s incarnations are as unlimited as there are waves in the sea. As there is no limit how many waves are there, similarly there is no limit of Kṛṣṇa’s incarnation. But some of them are prominent in reference to the specific culture we belong to and others are less prominent.
For this reason we do not have specific festivities for Lord Buddha. It would be impossible to do festivities for all of Them.

Of course this doesn’t mean that they are “less transcendental” or inferior.

We find in Visnu Purana 3.18 the story of how Lord Visnu came in this world as Lord Buddha and cheated the athests. There is surely more in other Purana.
