Srila Prabhupada’s general indication is that in a Vaisnava society all women should get married. But not only women, also men with uncontrollable attraction to sense gratification.
Grihastha Asrama is very important for a society who has the aim to help people advance in spiritual life. At the beginning, and especially at young age, one may be unable to control his sex urge, but with time and practice of Krishna consciousness it will become possible.
I could produce many quotes Guru-Sastra-Sadhu in this regard.
Maha-bharata says that amongst asrama, garhastya (grihastha asrama) is the most blessed.
And:
“Actually, human civilization should be based on the Vedic principles. This means that in the beginning of life boys and girls should undergo penances and austerities. When they are grown, they should get married, live for some time at home and beget children. When the children are grown up, the man should leave home and search for Krsna consciousness. In this way one can make one’s life perfect by going home to the kingdom of God.
(Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.31, purport)
“Every person must get married. Every woman especially must get married.”
(Caitanya Caritamrita Madhya-lila 7.128)
Those who are not prepared for the leap into transcendence should cultivate Vaisnava tradition at home.
Srila Prabhupada indicates also that this asrama is a safety valve for society, not to have people (men and women) going around disrupting families and tempting those who have no interest into a life of sense gratification.
This is particularly important for a Vaisnava society like ours.
