na tv evaham jatu
na tv evaham jatu nasam
na tvam neme janadhipah
na caiva na bhavisyamah
sarve vayam atah param
“Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.”
Bhagavad-gita 2.12
So says Sri Krishna. We are eternal souls, not the material body. We are not men, women, american, european, black, white, tall, short or any other thing related to the body.
If we are eternal, we should not worry so much for this short, insignificant segment of time we call “our life”.
Better live for the eternal life. Things done for the body end. Things done for the interest of the jiva, spirit soul (in devotional service to Krishna) do not end.
