Outside of the sampradaya

Srila #Prabhupada says, ””outside of the sampradaya.” and, What is ”apa-sampradaya”?

Prabhupada: One who is in the line of disciplic succession cannot manufacture his own way of behavior. There are many so-called followers of the Vaisnava cult in the line of Caitanya Mahaprabhu who do not scrupulously follow the conclusions of the sastras, and therefore they are considered to be “outside of the sampradaya.”

Prabhupada: In the name of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, there are so many #apa-sampradaya. #Apa sampradaya means they present themselves as belonging to the Caitanya cult, but they are not at all bona fide. They are rejected. Even such sahajiyas, they would not read even Bhagavad-gita. They think themselves that they are so elevated, they have surpassed reading of Bhagavad-gita. Similarly, there are sahajiyas, they also say that kirtana is not required for them. Kirtana, one who has very much advanced, he doesn’t require to chant Hare Krsna. I have heard it.

Prabhupada: Srila Rupa Gosvami has described this kind of so-called devotional attitude is simply disturbance. They imitate. Imitate. Therefore Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura has condemned. There are so many apa-sampradaya going on in the name of Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s devotee. So after disappearance of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, so many apa-sampradaya sprang up. So we should be very much careful. Sampradaya means who are carefully following the Vedic principle.
